As master designer/builder my passion is about creating the highest quality composite sea kayaks with the best blend of British and Greenland designs. These kayaks provide the optimum blend of rough water and touring performance with unrivalled comfort, durability and aesthetic appeal. I grew up on the northeast coast of the island of Newfoundland, one of the most rugged and spectacular coastlines in the world. Here, in small sheltered bays, seafarers and boat builders raised their families. The moods of the sea defined our lifestyle and permeated our conversations. As a boy I absorbed the stories of seamen and marveled at the designs of leading craftsmen. This fascination with design and materials grew as did my love of kayaks. I eventually relocated to western Canada and apprenticed with a leading sea kayak manufacturer for several years. During this time I became recognized as one of the top hand-lay-up laminators in the industry. In recent years I made the decision to return to my roots in Eastern Canada. Here, in our studio, nestled among sheer cliffs, pounding seas and towering icebergs we devote our days to building sea kayaks of the highest quality composites.
